What's holding you back

The everyday problems Freebird was built to solve

Devices leave the store as collateral you can't touch

You've financed a phone that's now 500 km away — and if the borrower stops paying, there's nothing to enforce.

Repossession isn't practical

Sending someone to recover a phone worth ₹15,000 costs more than the phone. So defaults just… stay defaults.

You're underwriting risk without leverage

Every extra EMI you offer is a bet that goodwill will hold. It usually doesn't.

Ad-hoc locking apps are unreliable

Free "phone lockers" bypass easily, break during OS updates, and don't tie to a loan record.

How Freebird solves it

Purpose-built workflows, not generic tools

Remote lock the moment an EMI goes overdue

Freebird triggers Superkey based on your loan rules. The device shows a payment screen until the borrower pays.

Auto-unlock on payment

When the EMI is paid via UPI or auto-debit, Superkey unlocks the device automatically — no manual intervention.

DLC mobile locking keys

Device-level lock control keys tie to the borrower's loan record. Tamper-resistant and OS-update-safe.

Transparent to the borrower

Borrowers know Superkey is active before disbursal and see clear reasons on lock. No surprise bricking, no dark patterns.

Common questions

Who is Superkey built for?

Mobile shops, consumer electronics retailers, and any lender financing Android devices on EMI. It's not designed for general-purpose consumer lending.

Is device locking legal and ethical?

Superkey is disclosed to borrowers before disbursal and only enforces the terms of the loan the borrower agreed to. Lenders are responsible for complying with local consumer-protection laws; Freebird provides tooling that supports transparent, opt-in use.

What happens if the borrower factory-resets the phone?

Superkey uses device-level enrolment that survives standard factory resets on supported Android versions. Bypasses require specialized effort well beyond a typical borrower.

Does Superkey work on iOS?

Not today. Superkey is Android-only because iOS does not offer the equivalent device-management primitives that a third-party lender can use.

Can we enable Superkey selectively per loan?

Yes. Superkey is optional and can be enabled per loan or per product tier — for example, only on device-financing loans and not on personal loans.
